Hello, I'm

Donal, A Local Dedicated Beekeeper

I take immense pride in producing locally made honey that's not just delicious but also packed with natural goodness. My bees forage on a diverse range of wildflowers, imbuing the honey with unique flavors and beneficial properties that only local produce can offer. This honey is raw and unprocessed, retaining all the natural enzymes, vitamins, and antioxidants that help boost your immune system and improve overall health. Aditionaly, I safely remove and relocate swarms that might otherwise be destroyed. This not only saves the bees, crucial for pollination and ecosystem balance, but also removes them from unwanted locations.

My Bees

The Black Irish Honey Bee (Apis mellifera mellifera)
native to Ireland, is celebrated for its cold hardiness, efficient foraging, and docility, suiting the Irish climate and preferred by beekeepers. However, it faces threats from hybridization with non-native honey bee strains, underscoring the importance of its protection.

My Approach

Sustainable practices and eco-friendly methods
As a beekeeper, I prioritize the health and sustainability of my hives, using organic practices to support the bees' natural behaviors. I focus on gentle handling to minimize stress, and carefully harvest honey to ensure my bees have enough reserves.

My journey in beekeeping began in the lush landscapes of North County Dublin, where I fully embraced the natural beauty and the critical role bees play in our ecosystem. My daily routine involves meticulous hive management, sustainable honey production, and the nurturing of colonies. Additionally, I engage in the restoration of native habitats to ensure our bees have access to diverse flora, enhancing the quality of our honey and the health of the ecosystem. Through collaboration with local farmers, I strive to promote organic farming practices that benefit both the bees and the environment. I'm deeply committed to educating my community, preserving bee health, and producing products that reflect the purity and essence of nature. Each day presents a new opportunity for me to grow, learn, and connect with the environment, making my work profoundly rewarding and fulfilling.
